Draft Horse Lines - Shire by ElaineSeleneStock Draft Horse Lines - Shire by ElaineSeleneStock
Oh my !!! This took me like 4 hours to do! :noes: Its my best and favorite of my line art yet! I don't think I'll ever do the feathers/hairy feet this way again. :dead: UNLESS you all REALLY REALLY like it. :lmao:

Reference: My own photograph of Diesel Sun (SHIRE draft horse).

A lovely clean lineart free for you to use! Draft Horse Lines - Shire by =ElaineSeleneStock ( Featured by PirateLotus-Stock )
:iconoh-windrunner:
Very beautiful indeed. I believe that it is mostly correct when it comes to anatomy. However, the far hind leg appears to be a little too thick, giving it an elephant like look. The neck is a great thickness and a perfect length of 1 1/2 heads. I congratulate you. :) The head looks a little awkward because the muzzle is too small, but still very good. The eye also appears to be too far up on the head. It should be closer to the cheek and a lot bigger. The chest appears a little odd, but I'm not the most sure about that. I love the feathers! :)

Okay, lovely piece of work. So, here's an explanation for my ratings.

Vision- 5 Stars
It's very hard to get a horse into this position. I congratulate you for getting the legs more or less correct.

Originality- 4 1/2 Stars
I contemplated 4, but decided that due to the extreme lack of Draft Lines that I'd give it a little higher for a score. It's not the most original, but not stereotypical, either. :)

Technique- 5 Stars
I love how the lines are almost, but not really straight.

Impact- 4 Stars
Not the most impacting, but still amazing. :)

This is absolutely stunning, would love to use this, as i know others will too. keep on making more of these. the feathering on the foot is beautiful and looks so natural. the hooves peaking out from beneath the feathers is perfect, and the muscle definition is stellar. the tail could be a bit fuller, but it really works for this horse, and, while the mane could be longer, i say the same as i did for the tail. I've been searching everywhere for a draft horse line art and i finally found the perfect one. Thank you so much

Your right, I did not free had this. I understand where you are coming from. However, I'm not pretending that I did anything but. With that knowledge in hand I guess I still got the DD. Maybe, what is being rewarded here is not "the drawing" but the fact that this is offered as a resource at face value.

Hi, I'm Erin, the one that chose this as a DD :) I thought I'd let you know why I featured your work since I didn't write much in the DD description. I don't care one bit if it's traced. That's a perfectly acceptable way to make lineart, as long as it's done legally. I did check the artist comments to see if you credited a source; you did and it is your own photo. The legal stuff is something I have to be concerned about, so thank you for stating that it's from your own photo. I don't want to feature stolen work, so that definitely puts my mind at ease.

Regardless of your method, the result is a clean lineart of a very popular subject (which makes me want to share it with all those equine artists), and you're offering it at a large size. It's a versatile pose (I can see it being used both for finished art pieces and character/color refs). You obviously put some work into it (those fluffy feet!)...it's not just thrown together without care. Given the high quality, it is a generous offering to other artists. That is why I featured it :)

I'm wrong. Sorry if I sounded so rude.
Congrats on the DD

This is from a photo the deviant took personally, and any tracing looks nothing like a photo.
That makes it original, imho. :+fav: from me.
